Almost home. A dramatic par 5 finishing hole that punctuates the Briar's Creek experience. An open tee shot should hug the left side if you want to get home in two. A line of bunkers up that left side will punish anyone getting too greedy. If you choose to lay up on your second shot, pick the middle bunker at the end of the fairway and hit a long iron. Be sure to hit far enough to clear a small cluster of oaks that would otherwise stand between the green and your third shot. If you choose to go for glory on your second shot, your bail-out is short into the family of bunkers awaiting your pleasure, or long right to some grass swales. Land it soft or you'll end up long in the marsh and receive a pat on the back for your effort. Leave the ball below the hole for the best birdie or eagle opportunity. |
