The walk between 8 green and 9 tee should be more of a stroll. The bridge over the tidal creek may reveal an array of elegant birds feeding in its waters, and the angel oaks that guide you along the way seem to have been waiting for this moment for centuries. When you're ready, the 9th hole is a short but dangerous par 4. Hit 3-wood to leave a short iron across the marsh to another undulating green. Hitting driver will gain some advantage but brings the bunkers on the left into play. Miss the fairway right and you're in the marsh. Missing the green left is your only bail-out. Don't go long and don't go short. A great finish for the front nine. |
